Voted the Best Bar & Grill in Canon City for 10 years running, this has been THE spot where rafters stumble in still dripping from their river adventures, where guides unwind after a long day on the water, where the stories get a little taller with each round of beers. The rustic western-style atmosphere is unapologetically casual. Worn wooden tables bear the carved initials of countless visitors. The walls are covered with photos of epic river moments, faded newspaper clippings about the Arkansas, and the occasional piece of equipment retired from active service. In summer, the shaded outdoor patio fills with the happy chaos of people fresh off the river, still buzzing with adrenaline, backdropped by gorgeous mountain views. The venue hosts live bands on weekends throughout the summer season, featuring local and regional acts playing rock, blues, and country. BBQ is the specialty here, with slow-smoked brisket that's earned a reputation as some of the best in Colorado. The BBQ brisket sandwich features chopped, sauced brisket on a toasted hoagie bun. All burgers use half-pound patties of all-natural, non-GMO Colorado beef from Elizabeth, Colorado. The Triple Decker burger stacks thick bacon, American cheese, pulled pork, and coleslaw on top.
